Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller

The data controller for the SearchPipe service ("the Service") is the SearchPipe team. For any privacy-related request, contact us at privacy@searchpipe.tech.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data required to operate the Service:

• Email address — used for account registration, login, billing notices and service announcements;
• API usage logs — including the query text of your search requests, timestamps and credit consumption, used for billing, abuse prevention and service debugging;
• Payment information — handled entirely by our merchant of record (see Section 3). We do not store your card number or other full payment credentials on our servers.

3. Payments and Merchant of Record

Payments are processed by our merchant of record (MoR), such as Creem or Dodo Payments. The MoR collects and processes your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) under its own privacy policy, and acts as the seller of record for tax and invoicing purposes. We only receive the transaction result and the information needed to credit your account.

4. Cookies and Analytics

The Service uses one strictly necessary cookie: a single HttpOnly session cookie that keeps you signed in. It contains a session identifier and is not used to profile you.

On our public pages (homepage, docs, MCP integration guide, pricing, FAQ, terms and this policy) we also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_<container-id>, default lifetime up to 13 months) and collects device and browser information, an approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address, the referring source and the pages you visit. Google Analytics 4 does not store your full IP address. The data reaches us only in aggregated reports; we do not use it to identify you personally or to serve advertising.

Google acts as our data processor for this purpose — see Google's Privacy Policy. You can refuse or remove these cookies at any time: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or browse in a private window. Every public page works fully without them. To object to this processing, email privacy@searchpipe.tech. The signed-in dashboard and the admin console load no analytics scripts at all.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data solely to:

• Provide, operate and maintain the Service (executing search requests and returning results);
• Bill your usage accurately (credit consumption, recharges and subscriptions);
• Prevent abuse, fraud and violations of the Terms of Service;
• Respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your search queries to build advertising profiles.

6. Third-Party Processors

We share the minimum necessary data with the following categories of processors, solely to operate the Service:

• Payment processor (merchant of record) — Creem / Dodo Payments, for payment processing and invoicing;
• LLM API provider — DeepSeek, which processes the fetched page content and your query to generate rerankings and summaries;
• Email delivery (SMTP) service — for transactional emails such as verification and billing notices;
• Web analytics provider — Google Analytics 4, which processes usage statistics for our public pages only (see Section 4).

Each processor handles data under its own privacy policy and data processing terms.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. API usage logs are retained for a limited period for billing verification and abuse prevention, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing privacy@searchpipe.tech. After account deletion, unused credits are cleared and your personal data is removed from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g. tax and accounting records).

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data;
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data;
• Data portability — request an export of your data in a structured, commonly used format;
• Objection and restriction — object to or restrict certain processing of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@searchpipe.tech. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an on-site announcement before the changes take effect.
